Our Learning Series

These aren't your typical one-off workshops. We believe meaningful spiritual growth happens through sustained practice and community connection. Each series builds progressively, giving you time to actually integrate what you learn.

Foundations of Silence

6 sessions • August - September 2025

Start here if meditation feels intimidating or if your mind races during quiet moments. We'll explore basic breathing techniques rooted in monastic tradition, gentle body awareness, and simple prayer forms that actually calm rather than complicate your inner life.

  • Weekly guided practice sessions
  • Take-home audio resources
  • Personal prayer journal framework
  • Small group discussion circles

Contemplative Depths

8 sessions • October - November 2025

For those ready to move beyond basic techniques into the rich tradition of Christian mysticism. We'll study lectio divina, centering prayer, and the prayer of examen while maintaining practical application for busy modern schedules.

  • Historical context and modern application
  • Advanced breathing and posture work
  • Scripture-based meditation practices
  • Monthly one-on-one guidance sessions

Living the Practice

4 intensive workshops • December 2025

The capstone experience where contemplative practice meets daily reality. How do you maintain inner stillness during family conflicts? What does prayer look like when work overwhelms? This series addresses the real challenges of sustained spiritual practice.

  • Integration with daily routine
  • Handling difficult emotions in prayer
  • Creating sacred space in any environment
  • Peer mentoring partnerships

Your Learning Journey

Most people expect instant spiritual breakthroughs. Our experience suggests that genuine growth happens more like learning a musical instrument—through consistent practice, patient repetition, and gradual deepening of skill.

1

Establishing Rhythm

First month focuses on building sustainable daily practice. Nothing fancy—just showing up consistently. We'll help you find realistic time slots and create simple accountability structures.

Expected outcome: 15-20 minutes daily practice feels natural, not forced

2

Deepening Awareness

Months two and three introduce traditional contemplative methods. You'll notice increased sensitivity to spiritual movements and begin recognizing patterns in your inner life.

Expected outcome: Ability to maintain focused attention for extended periods

3

Integration Challenges

Month four typically brings resistance—both internal and external. Family members might question your "quiet time," or work stress tests your newfound peace. This is where real growth happens.

Expected outcome: Resilient practice that adapts to life's disruptions

4

Mature Practice

Final months develop your unique contemplative style. Some gravitate toward Scripture meditation, others toward silent sitting, still others toward walking prayer. We support whatever emerges naturally.

Expected outcome: Personalized practice that feels authentic and sustainable
